Thermoplastics:
Thermoplastics are used for the production of plastic parts for
the electrical and car industry.
When injection moulding plastics with a filler rate of > 30
% it makes sense from the economical point of view to invest in
cemented carbide extrusion sets. The high utilisation rate and
the enhanced quality of the injection moulded products warrant
the overall profitability of any investment in our tools.

High-temperature resistant Thermoplastics:
The high working temperatures may generate a thermal decomposition
of the plastics. Plastic particles get stuck on the screw and
penetrate into the plastic moulding material.
The result is impure products and a substantially higher scrap
rate. Because of the higher thermal conductivity of cemented carbides,
there is no accumulation of heat and consequently no breakdown
of the extrusion set due to thermal cracks.
It is precisely this ability to maintain a high hardness in an extreme temperature working range which constitutes the essential advantage of our tools over the
conventional steel tools.

Oxide Ceramics:
When injection moulding ceramic parts, abrasion causes a rapid
wear of the extrusion tools. Compared with the average life of
700 h for steel tools, our cemented carbide tools have totaled
a 50 times longer running time.
Problems such as the abrasion of metallic particles, their penetration
into the ceramic moulding material, the ensuing impurity and pigmentation
of the finished product – a common phenomenon with steel
tools – could be eliminated by using cemented carbide tools.
Permanent Magnets:
The production of barium-, strontium- and rare earth-based magnets
is subject to a heavy wear of the screws and the cylinders. Conventional
steel extrusion sets were worn after 800–1000 hours of use
in the entry zone, whereas our cemented carbide tools have totaled
a running time of 23000 h since 1987.
Cemented Carbides:
When injection moulding cemented carbide
parts, cemented carbide extrusion sets have proved to be extremely
efficient. Well-known cemented carbide producers have used our
extrusion sets for years, whereas steel tools were no longer usable
after 3–4 month running time. |
