Introducing the MMP Series of Portable Mechanical Pipe Bevelers
(September 1, 2009) - The MMP series of mechanical Pipe Bevelers offer a quick and easy way to bevel pipe and tube segments. With reliability and repeatability, the MMP Series pipe beveler clamps the part in place while rotating the cutting tool around the outside circumference of the part. The result is a milled edge with no serrations or burn residue. The MMP series matches the proper pipe diameter with the proper clamping frame size (up to 720 mm or 28 inches). Each clamping frame can hold a fixed range of pipe diameters.. The MMP is capable of beveling pipe ends of steel, stainless steel or aluminum. Bevel widths of up to 30 mm are achievable. All models include variable speed control for milling head and offer manual feed or an optional variable speed drive motor. In addition, an optional adjustable height tripod stand and rail system is available upon request. |

Successful Stripback Application is Not Accidental with SHMUSA HOUSTON, TX (May 16, 2008) - Chicago Bridge & Iron (CBI) in its Houston facility commissioned Saar-Hartmetall USA LLC to assist them with a beveling problem that has proven to be a unique application discovery for our beveling tool products. CBI tank manufacturing facility welds large segments of roll-bonded clad metal plate. During the manufacturing process, some of this clad material must be stripped-back to assure a smooth and safe weld. Using a Gerima beveling tool, the welder can now easily walk the tool around the 40 foot plate and remove material safely and efficiently. CB&I and Saar-Hartmetall formed a team to make a slight engineering adaptation on the handheld SMA beveling machines to meet this need for CBI. It has proven to be a helpful technique for several other clients.
