PM-stellites

Stellites are cobalt-based alloys whose advantages over steels are their thermal and chemical resistance in a temperature range up to 800°C. Due to a variable share of hard particles it is possible to achieve a tailored wear resistance.

Furthermore the powder metallurgical production process creates a structural homogeneousness which enhances the distribution of hard particles and the isotropy of the structural components.

SARASTEL

The resistance to the oxidation at elevated temperatures and the improved resistance in an aggressive environment as well as the high wear resistance are definite advantages over steels thus opening up sophisticated fields of industrial applications

Sarastel

In all cases where there is wear in combination with an elevated temperature or/and aggressive agents, the use of Stellites may prove to be advantageous:

  • Hot working and transforming tools for the glass industry, rolling mills and forging shops.
  • shear blades for hot cutting, milling and cutting tools
  • protectors in stationary steam turbines
  • engineering parts
  • nozzle components for the chemical and petrochemical industry
  • shafts and bushings for seawater pumps
