By heating
the steel coating, the sleeves are prestressed radially and axially
and can be replaced if necessary.
This technique warrants the absorption of the high injection pressure
and prevents the sleeves from becoming loose when working in a
high temperature range. The close fitting of the sleeves makes
sure that there is no residue of ceramic moulding material in
the cylinder when switching from one material to another.
By manufacturing the sleeves separately and due to our special
prestressing technique we are able to make every size of cylinder
which is currently used in the plastics industry.
1. steel coating; 2, 3, 4 and 5 cemented carbide
sleeves; 6 blocking screws; 7 threaded ring

Due to our production facilities we are
not able to manufacture carbide screws as a single unit exceeding 1000
mm.
Screws up to 1500 mm are supplied in two parts. The driving
side, which is subject to little wear is made of steel and is brazed upon
the cemented carbide screw.
